I think I found my problem. I was trying to use a dimmer switch on one of the switches.

I tried this configuration. However, when the switch on the far right (on diagram) is turned off, the other switch is unable to turn on and off the light. I have checked my wiring. Can you look over the diagram to see why this might happen for me?

The three way switch with power coming in at switch diagram is wrong! Once you disconnect the hot black wire coming from the wall all power going to the circuit is cut off. You disconnect from that when you switch from up to down. The ports on the left side of the switch rotate back and forth, but the red wire port is always connected. The ports on the three way switches which connects to both poles of the switch is on the right which is connected to the red wires. The correct way to wire the switch is to cut the red wire at the light fixture location and connect both ends of the cut red wire to the two connections at the light fixture.

Can anyone tell me how if I have a light switch like this, I can connect a sensor switch to it. Currently the Neutral (Common) supplies the power to the switch and there is a red and black wire, pretty much just as this is shown.

That’s not in the 4th switch circuit, it’s in the same BOX but not in the switch… I thought you meant in the middle of the X. As far as using the BOX as a junction point, as long as you have the wires running thought it, yeah sure, it’s just passing through not doing anything.

Anyway, glad you found a solution.

No. You’re in the middle of a series connection of parallel switches. It has to be on one end or the other. Otherwise, it would only work if you had all the switches the right way, and then blow the breaker in the other because you’d have a dead short in the line.

To be honest, I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish.
